At 11:30 p.m. Monday, 18 year-old Joseph Scalise crashed his motorcyle into the center lanes of Highway 4 west of Solano Avenue, reported the California Highway Patrol.
The bike went on fire, and Mr. Scalise was pronounced dead at the scene, near the divider. The Contra Costa firefighters were also called to the scene to put out the fires as the paramedics pulled the body from the wreckage.
