Jun 12th, 2009 by JTrakin
A man from San Jose who was hit by a car late Tuesday night and driven to the hospital has perished. The coroner’s office identified the man as Ronald Ceglio, age 55.
According to police, the accident occurred 9:50 p.m. when he tried to walk across Bascom Avenue adjacent to Pamlar Avenue and just north of Southwest Expressway. A hit and run was ruled out as the driver heading north on Bascom Avenue, stopped after hitting him, according to police spokesman Jose Garcia.
Garcia continued to say that it was not a DUI either as alcohol did not play a role in the accident. It was unknown whether the man was in a crosswalk when the accident occurred.
