Fatal Crash Caused by Drunk Driver; San Jose Man Killed on I-280

Mauro Avalos Garcia, 20, of San Jose was struck and killed on I-280 on Sunday. Garcia’s 1999 Chevy Cavalier went off the highway for unknown reasons. Garcia then went to the front of his car, presumably to access the damage. Diania Yi, 21, also of San Jose struck the back of Garcia’s car, and ultimately strucking Garcia.
This tragic accident, ending in this fatality involved four other vehicles. Yi was arrested for driving under the influence. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Garcia family during these difficult times.
